Code development

The rapid developement of computational resources over the last decades allows for more and more sophisticated simulations with ever increasing complexity in physical processes included.

Beside our developements for stellar feedback processes and astrochemical networks, our work also comprises fundamental research on the numerical implementation of solvers for the MHD equations and the Poisson equation required for incorporating self-gravity in our simulations.

We are involved in the developement of the TreeRay module, which has become a official part of the FLASH release for solving the Poisson equation.

Furthermore, in tight collaboration with the research group of Prof. Dr. Gregor Gassner at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Cologne, we develop novel, and robust schemes schemes to solve the MDH equations --  a long-standing challenge in computational fluid dynamics.
