Session IV: review should be from astrophysics perspective

Scope of the conference

The 7th Chile-Cologne-Bonn-Symposium (in series of the former Zermatt-Cologne-Bonn-Symposia) Physics and Chemistry of Star Formation; The Dynamical Universe Across Time and Scales (September 28 to October 2, 2020) continues the series of symposia on the physics and chemistry of the interstellar medium (ISM) which is held on a roughly 5 year cycle since 1988.

Following the long-term tradition of the former Zermatt Symposia on the Interstellar Medium, we will stay with the concept of a broad topical range, addressing all aspects from the large scales in time and space, i.e., the cosmological evolution of galaxies driven by star formation, down to the details of star formation in individual, local regions and to the micro-physics of molecule formation and excitation. The Symposium thus will cover the development of this research field as a whole over the last 5 years in review talks,  and the recent topical results in selected contributed talks.

At present, we are forming the Scientific Organizing Committee. Around the turn of the year we will finalize the session topics and contact the invited speakers. The registration will open around February/March 2020.

Proceedings

The proceedings will only be published electronically as a PDF version with ISBN number (for referencing).

Review and invited speakers

Review talks will be 30 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion.
Talks for invited speakers will be 15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion.

Registration

The online registration will be opened early March 2020.

Deadline for registration with abstract for talks will be April 30th 2020.

Conference fees will be announced at the time of opening registration.

You can register for a contributed talk (15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion) or for a poster presentation. The SOC will select the contributed talks and talk applications not selected by the SOC for oral presentation will be converted into poster presentations.

Registrations will be handled on a first-come first-served basis. Once the number of registrations exceeds the participant limit, later registrants will be put on a waiting list.

The conference fee covers all conference related costs (abstract book, beverages during the coffee breaks).

Child care will be available free of cost. Please indicate child care demand during registration (tick box).

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
We would like to inform you of the Conference refund policy:

100% 5 months before first day of the Conference
75% 3 months before first day of the Conference
50% 2 months before first day of the Conference
0% 1 month before the first day of the Conference

All refunds will be made 3 months after the Conference has ended, via a bank transfer or PayPal. A 10% transaction fee will apply.

Instructions for preparing and submitting the Abstract

Abstracts must be prepared using the LaTex template you find here. You can include figures in your Abstract (eps, png and pdf allowed), but text plus figures in the final PDF must not exceed one page.

After preparing your Abstract, please submit it as a compressed archive file (.tar, .gz, .zip; file size limited to 20 MB) containing your edited LaTex file plus figure files and the PDF of your Abstract via ContactoChile.

Please feel free to contact the local organizing committee
(symposium2020-loc [at] ph1.uni-koeln.de)  if you have any further questions concerning the registration.

For general questions about the conference feel free to contact
"symposium2020 [at] ph1.uni-koeln.de".
